The gunboats were transferred to the Hellenic Navy from the US Navy. They were originally constructed for the crisis of Cuba. The gunboats HS ORMI (P-230) and HS TOLMI (P-229) are the two 'ASHEVILLE' class gunboats (ex USS BEACON/PG-99 and GREEN Bay/PG 101) of the Hellenic Navy.
